Total number of people visiting the Fair (4-8 October 2006): 286,621 (an increase of 0.6% over 2005). Of these, more than 60% were from the publishing industry.

• Day with the highest number of visitors: Saturday 7 October (74,100 visitors).
• The number of young people from outside the publishing industry visiting the Fair remained constant (30% were under the age of 25, 20% were under the age of 35).
• The number of women visiting the Fair remained constant (women representing the publishing industry: 53%; women outside the publishing industry: 65%).
• The number of accredited journalists remained constant: around 12,000.
