Periodista i reporter de televisió. Director de la productora Antàrtida. Enviat especial per TV3 als conflictes bèl·lics de Bòsnia (1992/1995), Ruanda (1994), Kosovo (1999), o Pakistan (2003), va entrar a formar part del reconegut programa de reportatges 30 Minuts, on va dirigir, entre altres, Sarajevo, l’enemic invisible (1992) o Al Qaeda: l’organització invisible (2002), sobre la presència de l’organització a Espanya. Ha estat el creador del programa televisiu Efecte Mirall (2004) basat en l’autofilmació amb càmeres de vídeo dels personatges protagonistes (Bronze World Medal del New York Festival). Tor, la muntanya maleïda ha estat el reportatge més llarg de la seva vida - vuit anys d’investigació - , que més tard ha publicat com Tor. Tretze cases i tres morts (La Campana, 2005). El llibre, que ha estat molt ben acollit pel públic i la crítica, ha quedat finalista a la darrera edició de la Semana Negra de Gijón (2007).

Als Korrespondent des Senders TV3 in den Kriegsgebieten von Bosnien (1992/1995), Ruanda (1994), Kosovo (1999) und Pakistan (2003) hatte er Teil am anerkannten Reportagen-Programm 30 Minuts, für das er u.a. Sarajevo, der unsichtbare Feind (1992) oder Al Qaeda:die unsichtbare Organisation (2002) über die Anwesenheit der Organisation in Spanien herausbrachte. Er kreierte das Fernsehprogramm Der Spiegeleffekt (2004), das auf der Selbst-Aufnahme der Darsteller mit Videokameras basiert (Bronze-Medaille beim New York Festival). Tor, das verfluchte Dorf war die längste Reportage seines Lebens –die Recherchen dauerten acht Jahre lang-, die anschließend auch als Buch, Tor. Dreizehn Häuser und drei Tote, bei (La Campana, 2005) herauskam. Es fand großen Anklang beim Publikum und bei der Kritik und war 2007 in der Endrunde des Krimifestivals Semana Negra von Gijón.

Journalist and television reporter. Carles Porta is the director of the production company Antàrtida. He was a special emissary of TV3 for the war conflicts in Bosnia (1992/1995), Rwanda (1994), Kosovo (1999) and Pakistan (2003). He entered to form part of the renowned reportage program 30 Minuts, in which he directed, among others, Sarajevo: the Invisible Enemy (1992) and Al Qaeda: The Invisible Organization (2002), about the presence of the organization in Spain. He is the creator of the television program Mirror Effect (2004), which is based on the main characters filming themselves with video cameras (Bronze World Medal of the New York Festival). Tor, the Cursed Mountain has been the largest reportage of his life – eight years of research –, which later he published as Tor, Thirteen Houses and Three Deaths (La Campana, 2005). The book, which has been well received by both the public and by critics, was a finalist for the most recent awarding of the Semana Negra of Gijón (2007).
