Escriptor. Autodidacte i ecologista, es dóna a conèixer amb La tinta de la immortalitat (Pòrtic, 1991), Premi Recull, i amb els poemes Trilogia del deliri (Sisalls, 1993). El conjunt de la seva narrativa, Aigua de València (Columna, 1993), Riu avall (El Mèdol, 1996) o Llibre de les set xibeques (El Mèdol, 1997), se centra en la geografia física i humana de les terres de l’Ebre. Mentre publica un altre volum de poesies, A munpare (El Mèdol, 2000), li arriba la consolidació com a novel·lista amb Anjub (Edicions 62, 2000), Premi Sant Joan, i L’hivern del Tigre (Planeta, 2004) una novel·la històrica sobre la figura del general carlí Ramon Cabrera. La seva última novel·la escrita, amb Esteban Martin, La Clau Gaudí (Rosa dels Vents, 2007), ha estat un èxit de vendes.

Schriftsteller. Der Autodidakt und Umweltschützer erlangte mit Die Tinte der Unsterblichkeit (Pòrtic, 1991), ausgezeichnet mit dem Recull-Preis, sowie mit den Gedichten Trilogie des Wahns (Sisalls, 1993) erste Bekanntheit. Sein gesamtes Prosawerk wie Wasser aus Valencia (Columna, 1993), Flussabwärts (El Mèdol, 1996) oder Das Buch der sieben Käuzchen (El Mèdol, 1997), ist auf die Umgebung und die Menschen des Ebrodeltas ausgerichtet. Auf den Gedichtband A munpare (El Mèdol, 2000) folgte der Roman Anjub (Edicions 62, 2000), ausgezeichnet mit dem Sant-Joan-Preis, der ihm den Durchbruch brachte, gefolgt von Der Winter des Tigers (Planeta, 2004), einem historischen Roman über die Figur des Karlistengenerals Ramon Cabrera. Sein jüngster Roman Der Gaudí-Schlüssel (Rosa dels Vents, 2007), zusammen mit Esteban Martin geschrieben, ist ein Bestseller.

Writer. Autodidact and ecologist, Andreu Carranza first made his name with The Ink of Immortality (Pòrtic, 1991), winner of the Recull Prize, and with the poems Trilogy of Delirium (Sisalls, 1993). His collection of works Water of Valencia (Sisalls, 1993), Down River (El Mèdol, 1996) and Book of the Seven Owls (El Mèdol, 1997) focus on the physical and human geography of the river Ebre. As he was publishing another volume of poetry, To My Father, he was also making a name for himself as a novelist with Anjub (Edicions 62, 2000), winner of the Sant Joan Prize, and Winter of the Tiger (Planeta, 2004), an historical novel based on the figure of the Carlist general Ramon Cabrera. His last novel, written with Esteban Martin, The Gaudí Key (Rosa dels Vents, 2007), has been a bestseller.
