most interesting Catalan jazz bands today.

The band called on to break the ice the first night are Hat - who take their name from the English expression "to wear different hats" to denote the varied styles they play. This diversity is
rich in the quartet's compositions, the result of a fresh and unusual blend of jazz, with
psychedelic touches, as well as influences as widely ranging as swing up, heavy metal& Sharing
the bill are the Colina, Miralta and Sambeat Trio, a happy encounter between three leading
musicians on the Catalan jazz scene whose passion, creativity and virtuoso skills combine to serve
up a rich dish of bop, Latin and Flamenco.

The second night of the Jazzkeller programme will vibrate to the sounds of Tornassol, the title of
Manel Camp's latest work, an inspired piece comprising two suites in which this pianist and
composer's quartet give full rein to their lyrical, rhythmic language. The evening is completed by
the Andreu Zaragoza Quintet, a group whose music explores the roots of post-bop, distilling it
all into a contemporary sound showcased in a programme combining original pieces by this
outstanding guitarist with interpretations of American standards.
