Verstransfer - Smuggling Verses: the adventure of translating poetry

Women and Days - the translations of Gabriel Ferrater
Gabriel Ferrater (1922-1972) is one of the most important voices in contemporary Catalan poetry. His work fascinates for its capacity to deal, through striking images, with the moral dilemmas facing the modern subject. The extraordinary translations into English by Arthur Terry, and into French by William Cliff, have brought the poet to a whole universe of new readers.
