The series Mallorca is a private collection comprising 4 etchings and 38 lithographic prints signed by the Catalan artist.
Joan Mir� (Barcelona, 1893 - Palma de Mallorca, 1983) is one
of the most internationally-renowned Catalan artists. Over the
course of his artistic career, Mir� turned from conventional painting
techniques towards new, contemporary forms of expression.
Engraving techniques allowed Mir� to experiment with new visual
effects while maintaining his hallmark style.
The Majorca Series is one of the finest selections of engravings by
this Catalan painter, sculptor, ceramist and engraver with close ties
to the island of Majorca, where he spent many years of his life.
The series is dated 1972/1973 and includes 36 numbered and
signed etchings and drawings.
