Literary Landscapes. Literary Journeys through Catalonia and Germany
The GeoGraphia - Literary Landscapes project has brought together three pairs of German and Catalan writers on literary journeys through Germany and Catalonia, during the period of June to September. The authors have acted alternately as hosts and guests, guiding their partner through their literary, cultural and personal realities. They have also done readings of their works in various German and Catalan cities, and bring their journeys to a close here in Frankfurt with this presentation. The writers who participated in the project will read extracts from their works and speak of their experience in this exchange programme, which can be followed on the website http://www.goethe.de/ins/ es/bar/prj/lil/caindex.htm.

Poetry Night
Closing event of the literary programme. A tribute to Joan Vinyoli
Joan Vinyoli (1914-1984) was a poet and translator into Catalan of, amongst others, Rainer Maria Rilke. His inquiring and lucid poetry, free from the infl uence of fashions, schools or trends, has become a point of reference for subsequent generations of poets, both for the originality of his universe of imagery and for the authenticity and modernity of his lyrical voice. With a burst of fi ne poetry, his work, and that of the Catalan poets who are his heirs, will bring down the curtain on the Catalan literary programme in Frankfurt. Refreshments will be served.
