Over four themed nights, artists from various disciplines will present work that tunes into some of the defining features of Catalan culture today.
Sonar, Barcelona's internationally renowned Festival of Advanced Music and Multimedia Art, now in its fourteenth year, will temporarily unleash its kaleidoscopic approach to the arts in Frankfurt with a line-up of four especially themed nights at the Bockenheimer Depot. The multidisciplinary exhibition and experimentation venue will also become a meeting point for professionals, journalists, cultural agents and the general public.

Four of the most creative new generation of chefs working within the tradition of Catalan cooking, some honoured with Michelin stars, will offer guests exclusive menus to get each night rolling. From 9.30pm, the Bockenheimer Depot will open its doors to Catalan musicians and international guests who will take over the stage. Each night the space will get a new makeover, courtesy of graphic designers and illustrators who will project work they have created specially for the occasion.
The three core disciplines underlying the Sonar Nights create a synthesis of art and performance that is open and daring but at the same time intimately connected to the senses: gastronomy, image and music.

PROGRAM
The program at the Bockenheimer Depot will be structured around four themed evenings.
1st Night - ACTION
On the first night, the stage will be shared by artists for whom action is an essential element, be it action of the physical or the audiovisual kind.
The night's special guests will be veteran musician, composer and performer CARLES SANTOS, with his performance for piano and trail bike "Ebrofalia Copulativa", which includes the participation of four-time world champion ADAM RAGA, and TUCKER, a remarkable b-boy armed with an arsenal of toy instruments.
The evening will kick off with a delicious start offered by the JOVES CUINERS DE L'EMPORD� collective and end with music by DJs FIBLA and �NGEL MOLINA, with complementary visuals by design studio INOCUO.
2nd Night - COOKING AND DIY
Night two features a mix of diverse elements, some edible and others mechanized, transformed into musical instruments.
Vegetables will become flutes, kettledrums and trumpets at the hands of the VEGETABLE ORCHESTRA, and CABO SAN ROQUE will demonstrate their special take on DIY sound. Chef JORDI VIL�, from Barcelona's Alkimia restaurant, will be responsible for the pre-performance dinner, while illustrator JORDI LABANDA will take care of the visual environment and MATTHEW HERBERT and UNDO do the same on the tables... the turntables, that is.
3rd Night - SPOKEN WORD
Words will be the focus of night three, and they will be expressed in the most diverse ways.
Poems by Joan Brossa and Salvat-Papasseit will be transformed into images and sounds by the poet CARLES REBASSA and multimedia artist ZACH LIEBERMAN, and poetry by JOSEP PEDRALS will fuse with beats by GUILLAMINO in a poetic reinvention of hip-hop. Hip-hop will also be king on sets by Dj2D2 and a live performance by S�LO LOS S�LO. ZARAIDA COTONAT, from the Sort's restaurant Fogony, will start off the evening with the opening dinner, and the studio NO-DOMAIN will be in charge of the graphics and projections.
4th Night - COLOUR
Sonar's Frankfurt Nights will be rounded off with a bang, in a mix of colours, sounds and festivities.
A celebration given over to mixes and fusions of all kinds, crossed disciplines, style fusions and aesthetic variety. FINA PUIGDEVA, from Olot's Les Cols restaurant will be the name behind the menu, with BORIS HOPPEK behind the visuals. Up on the stage, a collaboration between the music project �RBOL and design team ONIONLAB, the retrofuturist pop of THE PINKER TONES and the electro-salsa mix of SE�OR COCONUT & HIS ORCHESTRA will be up on the stage will DJ MIQUI PUIG spins the discs.
